Hi, can you share the shortcode you are currently using?

    Thank you.

I actually have the same question. I’m using the current plugin version 1.9.7. In a previous version, it had the option to add a note along with the payment, but no longer.

I have a simple customized button that I’m using. The shortcode is:

    [wp_paypal button=”donate” name=”7th Tradition” target=”_blank” button_image=”https://mysite.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/PayPal-Donate-Button.jpg”%5D

I really miss this feature, because we are unable to capture needed information without it. Venmo has the feature built in, so you would think PayPal would as well.

    Many thanks in advance.

Hi, try adding the following parameter purpose="" to the shorcode. For example:
    [wp_paypal button=”donate” name="7th Tradition" target="_blank" purpose="" button_image="https://mysite.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/PayPal-Donate-Button.jpg"]

    Kind regards.

Thank you for responding. Unfortunately that didn’t seem to accomplish anything. The page still looks the same.

For clarification, what we are looking for is a field where the user can not only type in the dollar amount they are sending, but also another field where they can input a message to us as well.

I appreciate your help with this.

Hi, This one doesn’t have the memo option like you are looking for. You can try the following plugin which has an option that your customers can enter a value when doing a checkout:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-easy-paypal-payment-or-donation-accept-plugin/

You can scan the following documentation of that plugin first to see if you like to try it or not:
    https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-easy-paypal-payment-or-donation-accept-plugin-120

Also, you can try the following plugin which is very nice for accepting PayPal donations using a payment popup widget. It has a custom fields addon to collect custom values from users at the time of checking out:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-express-checkout/
