• Hi,

I’d need a membership and a multilanguage plugins that work together.
Membership does not have to be complex – I will only have a free membership level, therefore PayPal etc. gateways are not mandatory. What I want is to restrict access to some content, redirect visitor to register page, but also provide the newly registered user with the option to edit he’s/she’s account – i.e. change password, e-mail etc. I’d need this to work with a multilanguage plugin, in that each page would have a button/dropdown to have the page displayed in a different language – including the edit account page.

Can you guys recommend two of such plugins? They don’t have to be free, as long as I can get them to work together.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hiya!

    How about WPML and Membership?

Hi and thanks for the reply. I’ve tried WPML back when it was free and I’m very much considering it, if I can also find a membership plugin to go with it.

Membership plugin – I managed to get it working up to when the registered and logged in user accesses the restricted page, but instead of seeing the content, the “No access message” is displayed – the member is prompted to register again.

Also, since this message (no access) is configured in the Membership panel and the Registration, Account page and forms are singular and just in english, I don’t see how these can be translated if the user choses a different language. I can only set up one registration page.

Any ideas? Maybe I’m missing something.

    Thanks.

You would need to provide a translated .mo file in order to translate those pages, but that’ll work with WPML.

Ok, I’ve translated bits of membership-en_US.mo (just to test) and saved as a membership-xx_XX.mo and uploaded in the language folder. What do I do next to activate the translation?

    Thanks.

You can simply overwrite membership-en_US.mo if that’s the language you’re using. The default strings are still in membership.mo so you won’t lose them.

Thanks. The problem is, I’ll have three languages (hence the need for WPML) – so my guess is this means three membership-xx_XX.mo files?

Ah yes, you will need a .mo for each of the languages you’re planning to have 🙂 Let me know how it works for ya!
