  • Great. I’ve added that tweak and I found the part in the database to delete and now the hidden members can be seen again.

Does the tweak provided by ammmze (above) fix the issue? because I have switched OFF the privacy settings until a fix is found.

    thanks again.

Worked for me.. adding that to the ultimate-member/core/um-filters-members.php.. Still missing one.. But she is never online… Thanks so much.. hope they fix this.. so I don’t have to edit every time there is an update..
    Thanks so much

@trevornanders With the code change I posted, the privacy toggle should work properly again, so you should be okay to enable privacy settings. In my quick test it was working.

    Hi Everyone,

We’ve created a pre-released version in the link:
    https://github.com/ultimatemember/ultimatemember/releases

Ensure that you’ve taken a full backup of your site before you test the pre-released version.

Let us know if this resolves the issue.

    Regards,

No It did not work… I installed the new pre-release and some members disappeared again… Had to go back and edit the um-filters-members.php as shown above… Also just for you info… The notice plugin I just bought.. does not work on cell phones… They cannot see the x to close the window.. hence it is useless to me.. πŸ™
    Thanks
    John

I don’t know what version you guys are using, but I am extremely pleased with an old version of UM which works brilliant for me. I know they always recommend updating, but I don’t need the last version of ultimate member.

As a matter of fact, I dumped 1.3.68 as soon as I noticed some JavaScript conflict in the profile form editor which requires selecting one of the pull down menus for the privacy settings (e.g. ‘only visible to profile owners and admin’).

Anyway, I only remember having an issue similar to what is described by the OP above, where not some, but ALL my users could not be found using the member directory search.

It turned out to be a mod_rewrite issue with my htaccess (which I had to tweak a bit and WP permalinks. I solved the problem by simply resetting my permalinks back to ‘plain’, then making a back up of my sql tables before flushing everything out. I then deleted, not deactivated UM. Next, I reinstalled a fresh UM copy of the same older version. Once working again, I set the permalinks back to /%postname%/.

After that, I was able to search and find any users by their names or any keyword filters without any more problems.

I forgot to mention that I imported back the old SQL files after reinstalling a fresh UM copy.

    FWIW.

    Hi @borisv,

    Thanks for letting us know.

We’ve created a new pre-released version with the fixes to this issue and it has a patch for performance optimization in member directory and loading users.

You can try the pre-released version in the link:
    https://github.com/ultimatemember/ultimatemember/releases/tag/pre-v1.3.69.12

    Regards,

Thanks, but I’m not sure why I would need that pre-release version. Did you fix the JavaScript conflict in the UM forms module?

Otherwise, I can’t upgrade, but thanks. My copy of your GREAT script is not broken.

Of course, the pull down menu issue could have just been a conflict inherent to the myriad of plugins I am running simultaneously, but I think it was a Jquery conflict between the newer UM version and the older one I use.

It could have also been that the load order of the jquery files changed between the new UM versions and the older ones. I could be wrong about all this, of course and attribute to something else.

Again, if it’s not broken, why fix it (upgrade)?

As far as security goes, that is, if an upgrade is mainly for security reasons, I think I’ve done a decent job plugging in WP security holes. So, UM is not a vulnerability for any of my sites.

Besides, I have so many modifications on a particular UM-WP-United web site that I would probably break down another script.

Does this new version work with WP-United without problems? I am sorry for all the off topic questions.

I am sure the new version will be excellent for new users to this GREAT plugin.

    Kind regards,

Correction: I meant UPDATE not “upgrade”.

Thanks Champ Camba. The pre-release looks good for the issue originally mentioned in this thread.
