    Is it possible to Members (which I use to assign user roles) with Ultimate Member?

    The members which are users I have defined with the members plugin show up when I’m logged in as an admin. But when I log out, they don’t show up!!??!? It has something to do with the roles which I assigned, using the excellent members plugin.

    If I don’t use the member plugin and only use stanadard WP roles, it does work… This is a shame, since I’d like to assign different users to different groups.

    In UM this is not possible. Unless I make a group list and name every member seperately, which is a very clumsy way of doing this.

    So is there a way to assign NEW roles to users, and group them in a way UM gets it???

    Members uses the standard user and role systems in WordPress. This is the system on which all plugins should be built. Members merely provides a user interface (the edit role admin screens) for users to work with this system rather than writing the code.

    If UM is not recognizing roles added via Members, there’s nothing that I can do about that. UM would need to be fixed so that it recognizes custom roles rather than just the defaults shipped with WP. WP has role and capability APIs (this is just a standardized application programming interface) for all plugins to use. Based on what you’ve written, it sounds like UM is not following this standard.

    It used to work, they’ve released a new version two weeks ago. Something is not right. I’ll let you know if I find a solution.

    False alarm – I think.

    It works now. I think the members membership of the members that weren’t showing had not been approved yet. Not sure though, it worked all of a sudden, but I don’t know what I did right.
