Well thanks anyway Rob, but I don’t think EDD is going to work out for us.
I will have to try figure out another solution.
I hope UM can shed some light why their forms don’t work with WooCommerce
Too bad! If you’re willing to share, what were the roadblocks?
The main roadblock is that I can’t manually assign payments to purchases without purchasing another plugin.
I have a policy before I buy any plugins, I thoroughly test their free versions – my test involves private testing and then if that works ok, live testing and member/staff feedback.
And since I can’t accept payments at the moment via any other system other than normal EFT or bank deposits or cash, I’m stumped with EDD having no free plugin for such a basic thing as marking a purchase as paid.
I will have to make a manual system for now until WooCommerce brings out their next version and see if that solves the problem, or unless UM can clarify why their plugin has incompatibilities.
I notice UM dos have a WooCommerce integration plugin, but if the basic woo shop has incompatibility issues with the UM, I doubt the integration plugin would solve that.
Understood. FWIW, EDD offers a free money back guarantee, so you could test their add-ons with no risk. (I don’t work for EDD or anyone else, I’m just a fellow developer and user like you, but I am a fan of their products.) Guess it also depends on how fast you need this stuff to work.
Best of luck,
Rob
Thanks Rob, you are a very kind person.
When I installed the newest version of Woo Commerce, Version 3.05 – the issue was no longer there. My drop down options lists are working perfectly.
Will mark this as resolved now.
Thanks!
@bizfundi I am looking to do something similar to the ‘Area of Operation’ dropdown you have on your site. Can you share the function you created to get that to be part of your directory search?
@danielmiller
Hi Daniel
Thanks for the compliment, but its nota function I created.
Here is what I did:
1. On the default profile form, I added a custom drop down field called “AREA OF OPERATIONS” with options added for the areas of operation members could choose from, when updating their profiles.
2. On the Directory settings of that particular directory, in the Search Options section, I have these settings:
Enable Search feature: Yes
Choose field(s) to enable in search: Area of Operations
I hope that helps!
Thanks!
@bizfundi
Thank you for taking the time to explain this. I very much appreciate it.
