Hello, I have Woo Discount Rule Pro and trying to set up a annual discount for what Im calling Memberships, those who pay an annual fee to receive a specified discount on all products, to be renewed every 12 months.

Ive created this discount with User Role as Member. BUT, I dont see where and how this rule is applied.

I was expecting when someone wanted to sign up they’d click on the Member Discount banner Ive created on the homepage, then theyd be directed to 1st register/login then pay, and then start using their discount.
But its not working. The link goes nowhere. I even tried adding a Membership as a product, but that doesnt seem to work either.

    Im at a loss.

Any help would so much be appreciated. Im hoping to go live soon and this feature is holding me up.
    Thank you

Additionally, you wouldnt have to be a Member to view and/or purchase any products. In other words, my site is not a Member only site.

    Hi

Thank you for reaching out. We understand the requirement.
In order to achieve this requirement, the approach should be slightly different.

    1. You will need to create a WooCommerce product – (you are right. Because the customer has to purchase and pay so that he can enjoy the special discount for a year)
    2. Once purchased, the site needs to change the user role of that person… (Let’s say: “Members: user role) – This can be achieved through a membership plugin for WooCommerce. Reasons: a. The membership is valid for a year, meaning the site needs a way to control how long a person can be a member. b. the person should be changed to the user role after purchase – Members. Here is a list of membership plugins that might help you for the Membership management https://www.cloudways.com/blog/woocommerce-membership-plugins/

    3. A user role based discount – This is where the Woo Discount Rules plugin comes in. A user role based discount rule will give them the special discount on any products they buy (I guess you have already created it). This discount will apply as soon as they login (so that the site can identify the person is a member based on the user role). if you need any help with this rule creation, please feel free to reach out to us at https://www.flycart.org/support

Our plugin is a discount rule plugin. It helps you apply discount based on a number of rules and conditions.

However, in order to accept payment to become a member (for 1 year membership in your site), you will need a WooCommerce Product. And to control that membership and the user role (controlling means – changing user role, handling expiry, access control… etc), you will need a membership plugin.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks
