Hey there jackanthony,
Hope you’re well today!
Premium version of the Membership2 plugin allows you admin side protection by using Admin Side Protection add on. They way it works is that is preventing access to specific parts of admin based on membership levels. Important note is that user has to have access in based on user capabilities so setting access to for example editors or authors to that plugin and then using protection based on level could work in this case.
Please let me know if you have additional questions 🙂
Best regards,
Bojan
Thank you for you response Bojan. Willthis enable each user to then save his own unique creations privately from other users? Pages, Posts, Optin forms, etc.?
Hey there jackanthony,
Actually no, the plugin is just adding protection to specific parts of admin side in addition to user capabilities.
So for example if a user has Author role set he is being able to create and edit his own posts. If you add admin side protection for posts he will not have access to posts unless he has membership level as well.
You can apply the same thing for other parts as well. If you develop a plugin and set access to editor role you can protect that from all editors unless they have specific access level added to their account.
As far as I know Authors do not have access to see other posts aside from their own in the admin area, I’m not sure that is possible for pages. Editors will see other users posts regardless of protection being assigned to posts by Membership 2 plugin.
You’ll find more info about user role capabilities here: https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities.
Hope this makes sense 🙂
Best regards,
Bojan
