 * This morning, when I try to log into 2 of 5 Thesis 1.8-installed WordPress 3.1
   RC2 blogs through Bluehost.com, I get similar messages:
 * “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘&’, expecting T_VARIABLE or ‘$’ in /home/
   angelcov/public_html/exciramedia/wp-admin/includes/media.php on line 1479”
 * and
 * “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘&’, expecting T_VARIABLE or ‘$’ in /home/
   angelcov/public_html/shansteffen/wp-admin/includes/media.php on line 1479”
 * I’ve tried to disable all the plugins but that doesn’t help. I can get to the
   login screen but once I click login, this is the error message I get. These 2
   are installed on the same server as a 3rd and the 3rd one is perfectly fine so
   it isn’t a general technical issue on the server as far as I can tell.
 * The other thing is that the former is a very small website – only 7 pages without
   a blog so there shouldn’t be a size issue either.
 * Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated on getting this fixed. Thanks!

 * [Download WordPress](http://wordpress.org/download/) and re-install the files
   as if running an upgrade. If there is anything broken in those core files, that
   should fix it.
 * I’m not sure if the Thesis theme changes core files, or if you have any plugins
   which change them, but in the past I have come across plugins which change them.
   To be on the safe side, deactivate your plugins by renaming your plugins folder,
   before you re-upload.
 * Also change your theme to the twentyten theme while you re-upload. You can [change themes via PHPMyAdmin](http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/phpmyadmin/).
