• Situation: I am manually adding podcast posts. They display correctly with the audio player and play as they should. But after several days the media url and player disappear. Have no idea why it works properly for days and then disappears.

Disabling plugins and switching themes to troubleshoot to find a problem that occurs in the span of several days does not seem practical and could take months to figure out if they are plugin or theme related because of the amount of plugins that we have.

I’m connecting with our new hosting service if there’s something they can spot. In the meantime, any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Where does the media file disappear from? Is it just that media players stop displaying on your WordPress site? Do podcast episodes disappear from your podcast RSS feed? For posts where this is happening, do you still see the Podcast Episode box within the post editor? If so, is the box still filled out?

We haven’t seen any other reports of other users experiencing this problem. All we can really suggest is basic troubleshooting: Make sure core WordPress, all plugins, and your WordPress theme are up to date. You’re already aware of switching themes/deactivating plugins. I understand you don’t want to do that but it’s the only way to troubleshoot potential conflicts.

You can try deactivating, deleting, reinstalling, and reactivating PowerPress. Settings are stored in the WordPress database and shouldn’t be removed when you delete the plugin but it never hurts to back up those settings, just in case.

The media file url in the add or edit post editor is what disappears. The podast episode box still displays. These particular posts are manually inserted episodes separate from our regular podcast episodes (No file/player issues with these).

Will follow your troubleshooting advice. Thanks

Removed and Reloaded Power Press. I’ve also cleaned up the database with Advanced DB Cleaner Pro, and things we’re looking good until I expanded the number of visible posts in a Post Grid Elementor Block.  Then the most recent media urls disappeared again.

Our Php error file was clean until I did this and then the following errors were reported:

[30-Oct-2025 15:33:50 UTC] PHP Warning: Trying to access array offset on null in /var/www/f7e76038-6e30-409a-a297-cb7270b3b11c/public_html/wp-content/plugins/elementor/includes/base/controls-stack.php on line 1647 [30-Oct-2025 15:33:50 UTC] PHP Warning: Trying to access array offset on null in /var/www/f7e76038-6e30-409a-a297-cb7270b3b11c/public_html/wp-content/plugins/elementor/includes/base/controls-stack.php on line 1649

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

Can you elaborate on what exactly this means?:

The media file url in the add or edit post editor is what disappears. The podast episode box still displays. These particular posts are manually inserted episodes separate from our regular podcast episodes

If you’re saying you’re inserting some type of media player into the post with a media file URL but not filling out the Podcast Episode box, how are you doing that? Is it a shortcode?

The error message you’ve shared appears to be coming from Elementor, which is not a Blubrry product. Would be best to contact Elementor support for that.

I’m adding media files URL in the Podcast Episode box. Then the player appears in the post. When the media file url disappears, so does the player.

I am seeing similar issues on my 2 blogs. It seems about 3-4 days ago things went wonky somewhere. I did notice there was an auto-update of Powerpress around the same time. No other pluglins show any updates for weeks. I checked to make sure it wasn’t another auto-updated plugin causing issues, just in case.

It is feeling like Powerpress is having some issues reading/writing the enclosures into the database structure.

@douglaswelch which WordPress theme are you using? Is it Elementor or a page-builder style theme like Elementor?

    (@tosok)

Theme – Satchmo which uses Elementor
