Media Upload Subfolder Organization Changed

  • It seems that when I upload files using WP’s media uploader, there’s been a change in how it organizes them. I double checked in Settings > Media and the option “Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders” is checkmarked (as it should be and was when I set it up). However, sometime between Jan 20 and Jan 23, the system changed how it organizes my uploads. See the structure listed below:

    <a href="http://www.fbcfloralcity.org/sermons/audio-sermons/sermon-mp3-downloads/1-23-2013-wednesday-pm/" rel="attachment wp-att-691">23 Jan 2013 - Prayer Meeting</a>
    <a href="http://www.fbcfloralcity.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/1-20-2013-AM-Service.mp3">20 Jan 2013 - AM Service</a>

Any upload since Jan 20th has been organized as shown in the top one. All before that date are organized by year/month. This change occurred before I upgraded to WP 3.5.1. I also added no plugins, and I have no plugins that manage the uploads because I like WP’s organization.

Also, I did not change the method I use for uploading: drag and drop. Anyone have any ideas what happened?
