    Hello,
Today I made a fresh installation of wordpress 3.3.1. Everything worked fine until I was going to upload an image. I get no error message, the uploads folder is created but no image is found after what wordpress thinks is a successful upload.

I have no plugins installed, theme is Twenty Eleven 1.3

I’m completely out of ideas here. Anyone?

Check your uploads path in Settings -> Media.

Yes, as I said, the folder uploads folder is created and the uploads path is the default suggested by wordpress.

I found the problem however. PHP can apparently not be run as an apache module in my case but must be run as FastCGI. Could be worth noting for anyone else having weird upload problems.

@niklasod, how did you determine that apache was the problem? I’d like to see if this is the cause of my problems also.

    And, did FastCGI fix it?
