Media Upload Errors

    Is its parent directory writable by the server?

    This is what I’m getting when trying to upload pics.

    I tried to do a fresh upload of WP 4.0.1 and all of the files were denied the rewrite.

    I went and tried to manually chmod directories and that could not be done either FTP or cPanel.

    Help!

    Appreciated.

    If you weren’t even able to adjust the permissions yourself, then there’s really nothing WordPress can do about that. You’ll need to get in touch with your hosting provider.

    /wp-content/ and the directories within should be 755. They may need to 777 if that doesn’t work.
