Support » Fixing WordPress » Media setting "image size" different in edit post

  • In WP Admin, Media Settings, I’ve chosen 1000 max width for my “large” size images. But this option is not available when I go to add an image to a post.

I’ve tried to find in my theme’s css where it might be determining this, and there is nothing in there to set the image size.

My current theme will only give me the option for a max width of 631. I tested it with Twenty Twelve, and it will only give me a max width of 625.

Can someone please tell me where I can edit files so that I can override whatever these themes are doing that is not allowing me to set my own image max width? I have no idea where to even look. It seems strange that the setting is there in Media Settings for me to choose when it is ignored, so I’m not sure what is going on. Any help would be appreciated.
