This has more to do with how your external database connections scanner is importing the data than with the structure Pods sets up.

You would need to write a custom import script to integrate with your database scanner.

It’s complex. For example, if as you said in the video, you’d like the external database to contain a comma-separated list of filenames of files already uploaded to the database, you would need to query attachments by name and then populate the field programmatically.
