• I only noticed this when I had to add thumbnails to old posts.

Edit old post, click on upload photo, select thumbnail but nothing is showing in media manager. The old photos are in the upload photos but unable to select ANY photos from the media library.

Post less than a year seem fine.

Is there a limit (date, size, number, etc) how much the media library selects or is this a bug?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

    Thank you for your response.

I tried each item you listed above but I am still experiencing the problem.

When I clicked on Posts > Media > Library and then the arrow for Show All Dates, it only list the last several months.

Using FTP, I looked under wp-content/uploads and see many years worth of files.

I’m stumped since the posts still have valid links and showing the files. I just can’t easily reference to them in media manager.
