I see this problem has occurred before but that there was no solution to it – or at least not one that was revealed in the thread.

I have just installed the BoldGrid suite of plugins with a new WordPress install for a new site (it came bundled with the install and I figured I’d try it out). Everything worked fine initially, but when my hosting company added an SSL certificate for the site, image upload stopped working.

The process appears to hang at the point of post-upload processing. Eventually a greyed out thumbnail is produced with an error message saying post-processing failed. The grey-out thumbnail also applies to images auto-installed with the Inspirations block installs, although the images display correctly on the site and in the editor and are editable within the media library.

My hosting company couldn’t find a solution so advised a reinstall, but to try the media uploader before installing any plugins.

I wiped the site and reinstalled WordPress. I installed the plugin bundle, but just didn’t activate any of them. Media uploader worked fine. I then activated all the plugins and the same problem occurred. Isolating the plugins one by one, I found the problem is with BoldGrid Inspirations, so I am presently deactivating it every time I need to upload images, then reactivating it again. It works but it’s a pain.

I found an autoalert from WordPress in my junk folder which identified https://___.org/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php as the problem file. Error details are as follows (only the relevant part of the filepath included) …

    Error Details

An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 398 of the file /wp-content/plugins/boldgrid-inspirations/includes/class-boldgrid-inspirations-inspiration.php. Error message: require_once(): Failed opening required '/wp-content/plugins/boldgrid-inspirations/includes/class-boldgrid-inspirations-receipts.php' (include_path='.:/opt/alt/php74/usr/share/pear')

    Any thoughts?
