Media library uploads and retrieves from different folders

Hi,

I recently upgraded from 2.1.3 to 2.7.1. I kept most of my wp-content/themes/default the same to keep my changes.

I’m trying to use the Media tool. When I upload, it stores images in root/wp-admin/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/ rather than in root/wp-content…etc. When it inserts from media, it uses the correct path of root/wp-content…etc and fails to find the file.

Any ideas on what could cause this and where I should look to fix?
