  • Resolved diamondsintherough

I want to say this is priority “critical”, but since this is just my little ol’ personal blog, I am compromising and saying “elevated”.

I’m blogging on a host that has recently changed platforms and is now powered by WPMU. I changed themes and went to upload a new header pic. I got a message saying, You have used your space quota. Please delete files before uploading.

Assuming this was referring to my media library files, I uploaded about half of the photos to Photobucket, changed their location info in the appropriate field, and then permanently deleted them from my media library. But my dashboard still says the media library is 100% full, and I can’t upload any more photos. I’d be happy to be able to add just one — the header pic. Is there a way to circumvent the media library and just upload it from Photobucket?

I don’t believe I have access to the admin/template code for my blog.

    Thanks ~

  • Your media quota is determined by whoever is the Super Admin on your multi-site network. Contact them and they can increase your quota.

The media quota is not full. There must be some code issue that is preventing the media library from calculating the available space correctly. ??

Unless you also have access as a SuperAdmin and/or have access to the file system directly, there’s nothing we can do to help. Contact your blog host.

If you’re absolutely sure it’s not full – as in, you have a message stating the correct quota, as well as a message saying how much of the quota is used, then you still need to contact whomever is in charge of the site where you blog.

Thanks, I’m trying. I don’t think the host admin knows. 🙂 That’s why I’m here. Grasping at straws.

(Gah, I wish my homeschooling blog site was open for signups… it works there… 😉 )

IF they recently changed settings for media uploads, and accidentally lowered it somewhere, you could be well over your quota. I’d hate to say try removing pretty much all of them. If that doesn’t fix it, they really really need to just go read my blog and get familiar with the program (and their server).

Thanks, Andrea. I moved three more photos and it made enough room to register the difference. I don’t know how moving 50 out of 90 photos leaves me 91% full, but it’ll do.

I had to take a look at your blog. 🙂 Fun. We do some quilting, too, lots of sewing, and more and more unschooling. I’m either lazy or I’m changing my philosophy, maybe both.

    Been there. 😉

Yeah, I’d say they changed the quota drastically.

(I also run, but signups are closed at the moment)
