Hi,
since today I noticed that my site no longer shows the used images in the responsive theme. In the media library all the images are replaced by “gray boxes”.
upload gambar

Somehow the issue is not theme or plugin related. I have deactivated all plugins and used the Twenty Seventeen WordPress theme and the issue persists. When I try to change the image I get the same screen and can’t accept the selected ( gray box chosen by name) immage to apply. when I try to open the direct link to my images I get the Internal Server Error message, though when FTP connection is made the file path is correct.
Please advise!
Thanks in advance!

• Hi,

It’s most likely file permission issue on your uploads folder.
You can get your web hosting company to assist in changing the file and folder permissions on your uploads folder.

http://docs.presscustomizr.com/article/229-fixing-errors-when-uploading-images-in-wordpress#unable_to_create

If you are using linux server, try changing to chmod 755 or 775

Hope this helps.

Thank you

Hi Denzel,
Thanks for your reply. I managed to change the file permissions to both 755 or 775 with FileZilla and it did not change the media library (cache was cleared every single time). Images are still not visible (same for newly uploaded images). I tried to recreate the upload file with the same end result. I mainly work with Firefox and today I noticed that with windows internet explorer I am able to see the images on the site, although not in the media library (they are shown as broken links). Also when I compare the site as is with the customizing screen, somehow the css for the link buttons is not being applied on site where it is within the customization screen.

Hi,

If you are sure that it’s not a file and folder permission issue.
You can check whether it’s a plugin or Theme issue.

Disable all your plugins, clear caches and check if your issue is resolved.
Keep plugins disabled and switch to a WordPress default theme and check if your issue is resolved.

Thank you

Hi,

As you can read in the first post, I excluded the problem and did as you suggested. No result however.

Somehow in mean time the issue seems resolved (don’t know how).
anyhow, thank you for your time and suggestions!
Kind regards,
Ijven

You are welcome.
Thank you
