Media Library shows files as Unattached, but they are attached to a page or blog

    My Media Library shows most media files as unattached, even though they are attached to either a post or page. And they show up appropriately on the post or page. There are a few that do correctly show what they’re attached to. Anyone have an idea why this is happening?

    Files are “attached” to a given post or page when they are uploaded via the Add media option on the Post/Page editor.

    So I first did a bulk upload of media via the Media Library Add New button, and then when later creating the Post, used the Add media option on the Post/Page editor, choosing to get the media from the Media Library.

    On only a few items did I actually upload from the Post/Page editor option to Add Media.

    It appears the bulk uploads did not get attached when I went to the Post/page editor, but those I actually uploaded from the Post/Page editor did get attached.

    Am I understanding that correctly? And if so, all I have to do is go into the Media Library and “attach” them to the appropriate post/page, simply for housekeeping purposes?

    Thanks for helping me better understand how this works.
