Media Library Permissions?

  • I was trying to upload some images to my library and WordPress told me that the parent directory didn’t have the permission to create an upload folder. So, I changed a bunch of permissions (using filezilla) in my public_html folder, and a couple other folders (not sure which directory it was referring to). Now, I can’t access my media library at all. I get a 403 error and redirected back to my web host’s site. Apparently, the media library is forbidden now.

Is there any way to fix this issue? Does anybody here know what permissions are necessary and which folders to apply them to? I hope to have other users on this site, so I won’t be the only one uploading images but I need to know what permissions to set and to which folders, so I can be sure that myself and others can upload images and I will still have control over my site.

    Thanks in advance!
