Media Library- multiplying each upload hundreds of times

    Hi,
    I tried to upload a photo yesterday and it multiplied hundreds of time in the media library. I have tried many times to delete the files but they keep coming back.
    I am using the Avada theme, version 3.1.1
    It is a very time sensitive site and it is critical that I correct this. Any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciative.
