Support » Fixing WordPress » Media Library empty after move & update

  • I recently updated to WP 3.5.1, and moved my site to a new host. Everything looks fine. Posts are present and images are present. But, my media library is empty.

Where is the link between media library and image folders? How can I reconnect this?

    Any ideas?

  • I have been up and down and around on this same issue, and there isn’t really a good solution.

The plug in Add From Server (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/add-from-server/) can allow you to add the files from the server to the Media Library, but I’ve found it to be very slow.

Once you get the files added, you’ll have to manually go in and reattach all of them to their posts if you want them to be organized in that way. This is an optional step.

Argh… I don’t know why this is happening and it is such a pain in the neck.

But, I suppose it needs to be done. Thanks for the input.
