Support » Fixing WordPress » Media Library : “appears with” : Is it broken?

  • On 2.6.2 I have uploaded images to the media library and subsequently used media library images in posts. When I view the posts with images on the site the images are there.

However, in the manage:media library panel the ‘appears with’ column is blank. I have also noticed that a heretofore reliable plug in ‘Justin Tadlock’s get-the-image plugin is not working properly, i.e., the plug in is not returning the supposedly attached image.

I’m not smart enough to figure out exactly what is going on.

It ‘could be’ that the ‘parent_post’ field is not being inserted or updated correctly. I have also done some experimentation on my own with get_attachment_link/icon/src, etc. with inconsistent results.

I have been working on a project that centers on attachment id’s and the like off and on for versions 2.6.1 and 2.6.2. I can’t remember running into the issue in 2.6.1 but I could be wrong.

Basically what I am trying to do is cycle through a result set of posts, check the posts for attachments, if attachments, grab the first attachment that is an image, access the filename of the original image that was uploaded before wp ‘crunched’ it as they say in the media library uploader. So, post id’s and attachment id’s are a big deal.
