• I think it would be great if by default WordPress included a way to group images and other media library assets into albums. Then allowed us to either share an entire album in a blog post/page/via plugin or just individual items one-by-one.

Right now the media library is just a list of images and can be a little difficult to navigate once you start adding a ton of images/photos. It would be nice to add an album called say “Day at the beach” and put all my photos/videos from that day into that album. Maybe another album called “random funny images” you get the point.

Of course keep the list view in place for when you do just want to view a whole list of all your items.

  • Have you looked at some of the gallery plugins?

Yes there are many plugins, but none that I could find that work direct with the WordPress Media Library. Since Media is basically a post_type, it seems it would be possible to set one media element as an album and be able to create sub-elements under this ‘album’ element.

Has anyone seen this kind of plugin?
