Hi There I am making a website with lots of images and pdfs ect... and I can see my media library getting very messy, quickly!!! as it has no real way of organization of files. OK you have the year folder structure this doesn't display in the actual media library but this is not what I am looking for ether! I want to be able to have full control make my own structure the way I want! e.g. a folder for thumbnails to upload my thumbnails in and a folder for pdfs to upload my pdf's and to be able to navigate through this in the Media Library view I know this is a big ask but will makes things 50 times better than it already is there is not this control at the moment. this would make me fall in love with wordpress. Also a good idea if I upload an image with the same name another make a pop up box appear to say do you want to overwrite this image. (because most likely you do!) rather than go in delete it and upload.

There is a plugin to replace a media file.
