media images not uploading correctly/displaying

Hi all,

I’ve recently installed 3.1.3 and having some trouble with the media image upload.

The upload works fine, but then no thumbnail appears once it has finished uploading. All i’m doing is uploading a small JPG. Then when i go into the image properties through wordpress and then click to enlarge the image, the image doenst open in the browser popup either. When i then try to access just the image by going to the full path in the browser, i get a access denied error.

I’ve checked the permissions on the /Admin and /content folders on the FTP and they are both set to 777.

I could really do with some urgent help on this a i need to fix it within the hour if possible.
