My website [ redundant link removed ] will not accept .sgf files as a file type for uploading to the media gallery. I need to add them so I can link to them from elsewhere on the site (they are a board game format used to display a game). There are already many sgf files in the media gallery from a long time ago, so once upon a time WordPress was accepting them, but now when I try to add them it won’t work.

Can someone explain to me how I can get it to work?

    Thanks

  • WordPress accepts limited file types:

Images: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .gif, .ico.
Documents: .pdf, .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .pps, .ppsx, .odt, .xls, .xlsx, .PSD.
    Audio: .mp3, .m4a, .ogg, .wav.
Video: .mp4, .m4v, .mov, .wmv, .avi, .mpg, .ogv, .3gp, .3g2.

To allow more file types, either write a function for it or use a plugin.

Ah that’s great, didn’t think of using a plugin for it. Working now, thank.

    No worries.
