• This is now the second time some of my media files have been corrupted. Last time I was editing my photography page and added one image and it overwrote all my other images because I’d save files as 1.png 2.png and etc. After this happened I made sure all images has their own file name and here we are again with the same issue. I haven’t edited my website in a few days so it was fine at the time and now I’m missing images from my blog posts, all the images on my photography page, and images on my web design page. Not sure why this keeps happening but if there is a solution I’d appreciate it.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi, have you recently made any changes? Are you using any plugins related to images? Are the missing images present in your uploads folder? If the images are not present please install a security plugin like Sucuri and run a scan.

Additionally, enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG to check for any errors. Errors will appear in /wp-content/debug.log.

Unlike most people I’m not using a cpanel or anything it’s all just directly on wordpress but this is the second time images have just randomly deleted from the same pages as the first time.

Hi, you don’t need cPanel for anything I mentioned. FTP access is good enough.

I installed the plugin you said and I don’t see the point, it emails me non stop saying I updated this or that but all my content is already missing again. The same content I replaced today. So that’s now three times images from pages keep getting deleted for no reason. Please help me figure out why this is so upsetting and annoying.

Hi, were you able to run a security scan? Did you check if the images exist in your uploads folder? Do the images exist in the media library? Can you check to see if you aren’t by any chance over your hosting plan’s storage limit?

Additionally, do you have any image related plugins installed? WP-Optimize?

I did add wp-optimize after I installed the other plugin. After I lost all my images I went to back it up and got an error. It says 10 gb of ssd storage whatever that means. After I ran the optimize plugin it cleaned like 20gb or something like that but I don’t know why files keep getting broken and I upload them again just for it to happen again.

Hi, could you try disabling WP-Optimize and the other image plugin you have installed? Try uploading those images and let me know if the issue occurs again. How long does it usually take for the images to get deleted?
