The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/gembygem/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2012/08.

ever since i upgrade to new version of wordpress and creating subdomain and set it up, i cant seem to upload media. help me. im a newbie

Try changing the permissions on the wp-content directory to 766. If you still have problems, try 767, 775 or 777. Once your uploads are working, change the permissions on wp-content back to 755 again and check that everything still works OK.

Where do i find the directory? I logged in cpanel and go to wpcontent but cant find the directory or will you help to explain step by step where do i find the folders or file?

i tried changing the permissions code to 766, 767,775,777 still not working

Try asking your hosts to check if you have a folder ownership issue.
