We read many times many user have problem with this plugin with a large amount of products like 36,000 in one listing.

So my question is: Can wordpress/woocommerce/wp-lister can handle this large amount of products?

We have 60.000 simple products, splitted in 3 listing profiles.
We have 300 configurable products in 2 listing profiles.

So please tell me is it a good idea to use this extension?
Right now we are using magento with m2epro extension without any problems.

    Best wishes
    Tommy

  • Hi @tommy83,

We have confirmed that 10,000-15,000 products is the upper end of the limit for listings when using WP-Lister.

Matt (the developer) has made it known to the support team, as well as many customers of his that he doesn’t recommend using his software or Woocommerce for that matter with more than 15-20,000 products.

    Kind regards,

We have an managed server with 8 CPU cores and 12GB RAM + Varnish Cache.
Right now we have 60.000 products without any problem in wordpress/woocommerce. Also the product search in frontend with live preview is super fast. Also categories and checkout are loading fine. No problem on wordpress/woocommerce side if hosting is good.

So this limitation is based on wp lister, correct?

    Hey @tommy83

It is based on WP-Lister due to the fact that WP-Lister must operate within the WordPress environment which creates limitations for some larger site users.

We state on our site that we recommend no more than 10,000 listings give or take depending on the server. But it also depends on the configuration of your WordPress site, Woocommerce install, installed plugins, etc.

There are many factors, as there always is when discussing “Performance”. We have seen some users with 20-30,000 listings and have had no issues. We have also seen cases where users had a similar number of products and ran into problems.

It does vary from site to site depending on many factors, some of which are mentioned above.

    Kind regards,
    John

I see some other 3rd party extensions run not on customer server, it run all processes on external service cloud. So customer server will not go down when lister is working. And this will also have an positive impact to woocommerce shop and customer.

Is that possible with wp-lister or wp-lister have to run on our machine?

    Hey @tommy83

Sorry, that isn’t possible, you need to operate WP-Lister from your WordPress site.

    Kind regards,
    John
