Any idea what may be causing this error?

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /var/www/domains/mysite.com/docs/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-file-monitor-plus/classes/wpfmp.class.php on line 296

I deleted and reinstalled the plugin, to no avail.

This is because the script is taking longer than 30 seconds to scan your files and due to the way your web host config is set you cannot run scripts for longer than 30 seconds.

I recommend that you try reducing the number of files this script has to scan. Try ignoring safe directories where there maybe 1000's of files.

If you cannot reduce the number of files to scan then try using a faster webhost, asking them to increase the execution limit or look at putting this: http://php.net/manual/en/function.set-time-limit.php some where in your config file.
