Support » Plugin: Delightful Downloads » Maximum *download* file size?

  • I’ve created successful downloads before and the plugin is working well. Most of my files are under 20mb, but I have two (recent ones) that I’ve uploaded over FTP that are 120+ MB.

I’ve placed them in the WordPress file structure, and I’ve even tried placing another small file (using the same name as the large file) in that same folder to see if it works. Here’s what I’ve found:

When the download points to the small (88k) file, it works fine. When it points to a large file, after a second or two, the browser opens up a page that says “The webpage cannot be found” (on Chrome).

I’ve narrowed this down to file size. But I’m stumped about how to fix it.

Thanks in advance if you have any ideas.

    Hi there,

Do you have access to the server logs? This may be able to point us to the source of the error.

I do — I’ve been looking over yesterday’s log this morning and trying to make sense of the problem. It seems like I’m getting a 500 error, but there isn’t much information about what the cause of it is.

I can email it to you (I’d rather not post it here) — would that work?

    Thanks
    Michael

Okay, I think I’ve narrowed it down:

Here is one of the 500 error lines. I believe the bolded number represents a heap error:

    /omega/?ddownload=1758 HTTP/1.1″ 500 40894464

    Hi,

If you could send the logs to hello@ashleyrich.com I’ll take a look.
