Greetings, @thomsenf, Since there have been no updates during the last four months, it is likely due to a theme or plugin conflict. I see the error message is “Number of permitted words exceeded” when it is set to 300, but only 8 words were entered. I will ask my developer to do a quick review, but first, we need to know what theme and version and what if any membership plugins are being used, or any others that might affect the post or comment function. Thanks.
Hi! We have WordPress 6.3.2 with Theme “Sahifa” and a few PlugIns (Cookie banner, Ad-Manager, SEO, …). Will it help, if we send you some kind of a report or so? Please advice, how we can debug to find what causes this error. Thank you!
Yes, If you go to Tools > Site Health > Info > Active Plugins
You could paste the active plugin list in to see if anything else might be collectively a challenge. Being the holidays, response time might be slower than normal.
Here comes the list. If you think that one ore more could interfere with limit comments, we could easy deaktiviate and test again.

Yoast SEO Version 21.7 von Team YoastHi @thomsenf
I checked our plugin and I am not seeing any problem. I will suggest you deactivate the installed plugins one by one and check the problem.
@thomsenf, I concur with Repon, you will need to disable one plugin at a time and possibly disable your Sahifa theme and revert to the WordPress Twenty-Twenty-Four theme to test what is causing the conflict and contact the source of the conflict to fix their plugin issue. If the above is beyond your scope, ideally you will need to secure the assistance of a developer. Our plugin works predictably with the default WordPress themes and others as well. Therefore something is amiss with your combination of installations. As always, free plugin support is limited to the code of the plugin itself, and we cannot seek to access your system to assist where it is a violation of WordPress plugin provider rules.
Yes, you were right. It was the AntiSpam plugin that caused the error. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your support!
