Support » Theme: Hueman » Max number of menu items?

  • I have 9 top level menu items based on categories, but lots of sub-level menu items within those 9.

    Every time I add a new sub menu item, the item at the end of the list disappears. This has had happened several times.

    Is there a maximum number of items allowed and if so, can I change it?

  • Definitely not a theme related i think,but it depends on server config and also there is a ticket where a lot of conversation going on .
    Try this:

    Ask your webhost to set the following values in the PHP.ini configuration: = 5000
    suhosin.request.max_vars = 5000

    or the number 5000 a little more based on number of pages you have.

    check this

    It’s not always related to suhosin. PHP 5.3.3 and above has a setting like this built-in. The easiest way to resolve is to add the following lines to your .htaccess file (in the root of your WordPress folder).

    <IfModule mod_php5.c>
      php_value max_input_vars 5000

    Or you can add them all, just to be sure…

    <IfModule mod_php5.c>
      php_value max_input_vars 5000
      php_value suhosin.get.max_vars 5000
      php_value 5000
      php_value suhosin.request.max_vars 5000

    Hope that helps.

    Just an FYI – php_value and php_flag .htaccess directive code can ONLY be used in .htaccess files IF the server type and web host allow those directives to be used in .htaccess files. The majority of server types and web hosts do NOT allow using php_value and php_flag directives in .htaccess files and instead use php.ini files for adding directives and directive settings changes.

    Using php_value and php_flag directives in an .htaccess file on a server type and web host that do not allow those directives in .htaccess files will cause the website to crash with a 500 Internal Server Error.
