    Hi there,

I’m really confused by something. I have been using Max Mega Menu for a good while, and I’m really happy with it, and all my menus have been displaying as they should. However, today I wanted to display one of my menus in an additional place on my webiste, but in a different style, so I created a new duplicate version of the menu, enabled Max Mega Menu for it, just as I do for the other menus I use, but Max Mega Menu just won’t work for that menu. It just shows up as a bulleted list.

I have had this happen before. It always happen when I create a new menu, but I always manage to make it work by saving the Max Mega Menu settings and the menu itself a bunch of times in a random order. After each save I check if the menu is working, and if it doesn’t I keep saving until it does. I don’t know why this happens, but somehow it suddenly works. This time however, I can’t make it work. No matter what I do, it just won’t show as anything but a bulleted list, even if the settings and everything else is exactly the same as the identical one working as it should. Even if I add this new menu to the same place as the old it won’t work… It is just really confusing…

What could be the reason for some menus not working with Max Mega Menu, even if the settings and placement are exactly the same?

    Thanks!
    Havard

    Hi Havard,

Replied to this a few days back through Pro support, but for everyone elses benefit here is my response:

    1. In your theme the call to wp_nav_menu needs to include the theme_location parameter, if it doesn’t then MMM will never work for that menu, so that’s the first thing to check.

    2. If the menu works “eventually” then I suspect the CSS that MMM generates is being cached somewhere, and the new CSS is taking a while to show up in your browser. This can/will happen if you have any of the following: a minification plugin that combines and caches all of your sites CSS, a caching plugin that caches the output of your site somehow, a CDN (e.g. cloudflare) that is caching the CSS on one of it’s edge servers.

    Regards,
    Tom
