    Hi,

Since a while both me and a second editor of a site were unable to login to WP. I finally found out that the cause is some bug in AIOWPSF. We had enabled the match-captcha that appears upon login to WP, and the error message when logging in still says: ‘your answer is wrong’. However, the match captcha is not shown any longer, causing the site to block after three attempts. So in short: AIOWPSF still expects a math answer, but doesn’t show the math question any longer.

    Is this a known bug?

I am able to login again to WP by changing the plugin-name temporarily, and removing all its data from the .htaccess-file. However, this makes it impossible of course to switch off the match-captcha in the settings. Is it possible to disable that match-captcha option by removing some line(s) of code somewhere?

    Cheers!
    Raoul

Ok, I solved it by following instructions in an earlier post:
    – changed the name of the plugin throught ftp
    – logged in
    – changed back the name of the plugin (through ftp, while still being logged in in WP)
    – switched off the ‘enable google’ recaptcha in the Brute Force settings page
    – and then switched of the login recaptcha too

So the problems started when I opted-in to have the Google ReCaptcha appear everywhere months ago. That recaptcha never showed up, nor did the standard math-recaptcha. But the plugin still expected some mathematical outcome without actually asking it, causing people to keep trying to login (and thus to be blocked eventually).

    Cheers,
    Raoul
