# Mastodon share

 * Clicking the Mastodon share button, then asks for mastodon instance.
 * But the popup link doesn’t work…
 * Plugin creates [https://mas.to/@USERNAME/share?text=Hello+World](https://mas.to/@USERNAME/share?text=Hello+World)
   which leads to a 404
 * But [https://mas.to/@USERNAME?text=Hello+World](https://mas.to/@andymoyle?text=Hello+World)
   would work.
 * Please update!

 * Hi Andy, AddToAny uses the correct sharing endpoint for Mastodon instances, so
   _something_‘s up in this case.
 * AddToAny expects an input of `https://mas.to` (without the username). Did you
   add an [@username](https://wordpress.org/support/users/username/)? Perhaps we
   should clarify that no [@username](https://wordpress.org/support/users/username/)
   is needed.

 * Yes I did! Works fine without – bit new to Mastodon
