Massive increase 404 because of all url's ending with /URL

    Try:
    – deactivating ALL plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the unedited default, core-bundled Theme (such as Twenty Fourteen) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue.

    -If the above steps dont help, try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting and renaming your WordPress .htaccess file. If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure again.

    If clearing your Permalinks does not alleviate the issue, this could be attributed to anything from a web server configuration to a bad WordPress install.
