Twice in the last two days, cleantalk seems to be responsible for flooding my error log (with over 20GB) of data, causing my site to crash.

I have cleantalk on a few sites, but this only seems to be happening on the one (for now)

    Can you help me please?!!?!?

    Hello, @mitchzeltzer

    Thank you for your feedback.

we have made a fix that should help.

Please download and isntall the dev-version from here:
    https://github.com/CleanTalk/wordpress-antispam/releases/download/dev-version/cleantalk-spam-protect.zip

    (the version should be 5.160.2-dev)

    Here is an instruction:

    1. Go to the WordPress Administrator Panel —> Plugins.
    2. Find the plugin “Spam Protection by CleanTalk” —> Deactivate.
    3. After the automatic page refresh, find the plugin again “Spam Protection by CleanTalk” —> Delete. Confirm “Yes, delete these files”.
    5. Go to Plugins —> Add New —> Upload Plugin.
    4. Download the plugin archive from the link above.
    6. Choose the downloaded archive and press “Install Now”.

    Did it help?

I’ve just downloaded and rolled back to the previous version. Would that be more stable than this dev version?

I can’t afford a third crash in 2 days, yikes!

@mitchzeltzer, I am sorry for this issue. Yes, we do our best to fix it in the next stable release.

Which one PHP version do you use? Could you please check it here?

Which would you say is better… to go with 5.160.2-dev or roll back to 5.159.9?

This particular site is on an older version of PHP – 7.0.27

The best is go with 5.160.2-dev.

If it doesn’t work, please disable the SpamFireWall here,
WordPress console -> Settings -> Anti-Spam by CleanTalk -> SpamFirewall turn off.

    (@mitchzeltzer)

Ok, I’ve already rolled them all back to 5.159.9

If things are looking stable I’ll try the new dev version later when I can sit and monitor things.

    Thanks!

Please, open a ticket in our private support system:

As a temporary solution, disable the Spam FireWall option in the plugin settings:

WordPress Admin Page —> Settings —> Antispam by CleanTalk —> SpamFirewall turn off

    @mitchzeltzer hello.

I’m sorry about the issue. We have fixed it in 5.160.1 version.

Please, delete a dev/fix version (if already installed it from the github) and install 5.160.1 from the Wordrpess catalog.

Thank you so much for the cooperation!
