Support » Plugin: Wordfence Security » Massive CPU hits, Ajax killer

  • Twice when I’ve updated the plugin, it goes wild with runaway CPU useage, related to cron events and admin-ajax.php, causes my CPU metering (on SiteGround) to deactivate my site. After many ticket and chat exchanges, the support staff confirmed this was the issue.
And worse, while having the issue, my dashboard becomes unresponsive, and I am unable to even deactivate and delete the plugin, causing me to go cowboy and FTP in to remove the plugin folder wholesale.

    Hi kingdazy,
Sorry to hear you’ve had a bad experience with Wordfence. It definitely sounds like something is going wrong on your sites when updating the plugin. It doesn’t look like you have reached out to our support. We have staff in the forums here on wordpress.org who can help you.
