It looks like I can’t change the status back, so I’m creating a new post, so it doesn’t fall by the wayside. I’m getting feedback on this from users, and am using the latest update of the plugin.

    Details:

If I click on the first image, then click info, I see what it’s always shown, the description. BUT if I use the forward arrow to navigate to the next image, it shows break tags, etc, in the info. It’s not dependent on the image, whichever image I click on first loads normally, but if I use arrow keys to navigate once info is being displayed, the text shows break tags instead of just breaking.

    Steps to reproduce:

    • Click on any image.
Click on info, which brings up info text.
Click on right arrow, to navigate to the next frame, which brings up info text with break tags displayed.
    • Playing slideshow also has this behavior, displaying html tags after the first image when “info” has been clicked (as does navigating with arrow keys).

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I do confirm. After one of the recent updates, multi-line description shows <BR> marks.

    Hi,

We are kindly asking you instead of putting <br> tag to use Enter key. Please let us know if it works.

    Thank you!

    Have a nice day!

    [updated post]
Nothing was changed on the website / database itself though, it’s there for 2 years! New lines were entered using Enter key just normal way and they’re still OK (no HTML tags). And all of sudden it broke with some update.

Now, when I click a picture it looks OK. Scroll to the next, then previous – not OK. This might be a reason you haven’t noticed it.

    Best regards,

    Hi,

This page seems distorted. It is very inconvenient to write here. I am kindly asking to contact us using the following form.

    Thank you in advance!

    Have a nice day!

    Hello
    I have the same problem.
In version 5.1.18 it was OK
In versions 5.1.20, 1.5.21 and 1.5.22 it is NOT OK
(did never had version 5.1.19, which has numerous changes)

Indeed the problem is in displaying the images in for instance image browser. 1st image OK, then <br> tags are seen.
Further: In thumbnail of image browser you need the <br> tag in image description because otherwise the info is shown all in one line, in spite of ENTER used!!

So either way: the suggestion to use ENTER leaves still a problem.
Moreover: I have over 500 galleries on my site and changing description of all images is no option.
I have rolled back to version 5.1.18, but like to update when the problem is solved.
    with kind regards

Enter key is what was used originally. There are no tags on the admin side, only on successive views (display). Enter key is not a fix. The tags are put in by the plugin or by wp, and they only get translated to text on certain views. Again, this has only been an issue lately, with existing galleries that were displaying fine for a long time.

To be clear: I use the <br> tag in the image description otherwise the description is displayed in one line at the thumbnail view of for instance the image browser. So the <br> tags are not put in by wp or plugin, but by myself.
Again: with over 500 galleries and a multiple of that images it is no option to change them…

It is remarkable that the first image shown does display the description correctly, but that after stepping the description is displayed with the <br> tags (including the 1st image if you revert to that).
So there is a difference in displaying just when image browser starts and after that…
This must be a clue to the developers to find the problem. And the fact that display in version 5.1.18 was OK.
Probably the problem is introduced in version 1.5.19 which contains a lot of changes.

    Hi,

Please update the plugin to the latest version.

Then, navigate to Photo Gallery / Settings / General / Developer Mode and select Yes option. Afterwards, try the descriptions again.

Please let us know if it helps.

    Thank you!

    Have a nice day!
