    Hi there,

I have been using Otter maps block for a while now. But I only realized today that the maps are only showing up for me.

When I look at a page in incognito mode, the maps are not there, even though they are on the front end for me and when I am editing a page.

I have regenerated a new API key and purged caches. But I still cannot see the maps block when I am in incognito mode. I cannot figure out what could be the problem. When I use inspect to look at the space where the block is, there are no console errors.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey @missadventures,

On which page have you added the map? Thank you!

    Here’s one example:

Please note that I have two maps on this page. The first is an embed (because I liked the way it delineated borders around the region in question). The second one, an otter map, is not showing up. You can see the code for it in “inspect.”

    Hey @missadventures,

I believe you’re using some sort of compressor to minify your website? It seems it’s stripping all the JS needed to make the Google Maps work. Can you check if on of the plugin is causing an issue?

    Ah. It’s working again!

I disabled minify on Cloudflare because I had it with a plugin. I also deactivated a plugin that helped me limit assets. One of the two of those must have done it. I purged the cache and my maps were there again.

Thank you for helping me figure out the cause. We do so much to try to “optimize” our sites with plugins that we end up ruining the front end for our users.

@missadventures can you let us know the name of the plugin too so we could test it on our side too and see if the issue if something can be done to avoid such conflicts.

Glad to know it’s working now! I’m marking this thread as resolved, feel free to open another one if you ever face any other issues. 🙂

Hi. Yes. It’s Asset Cleanup: Page Speed Booster. It seems to work great for speed. But I guess its limiting of .js caused the problem with the maps.

Of course, it may have just been a problem because of the duplication of minify on SG Optimizer vs. Cloudflare.

I actually don’t want to cast any blame on any of these plugins or services because they all seem to work great on their own. But running a WordPress install is a bit like being a pharmacist and you have to understand contraindications.

Yea, that’s true. Using multiple plugins for optimization can be a bit tricky. 🙂
