[Resolved] mapping to subdomain/subdirectory

  • Hi Author,

I still did not try it but just want to ask and also curious about it,

Can the plugin also detect a subdirectory created? or perhaps a subdomain? not just only a specific domain?

By the way, I preferred to use a subdirectory.

Is this thing supports the plugin right now?

Hope you can help me. Thanks

    Your plugin really helps. 🙂

    Hey there

I’m not really sure I understand your question.

For one, DMS can handle subdomains. While www.example.com points to the default WordPress homepage, DMS can load a specific WP Page for foo.example.com.

I suppose by subdirectory detection you mean you have WordPress installed on www.example.com/wp instead of www.example.com/ and would like to point www.foo.com to a WP Page. I really don’t think that would work with WP right now, but then again, I’d really abandon that for multiple reasons.

If you’re thinking of a MU-Setup you should see the other thread about using DMS in a MU-environment.

Thanks for the response. I appreciate it.

Just want to simplify my question though.

Perhaps, I have a wordpress page (http://www.example.com/wp), can this link be pointed on a subdomain? for instance, foo.example.com. Also would it be possible if it would be pointed to http://www.example.com/subdirectory

    Hey Quincie,

If you have a WP Page “My Cool Product” (www.example.com/my-cool-product) then yes, you can map the subdomain foo.exampel.com to that page.

Unfortunately it’s not able to point to subdirectories.

    Your welcome 🙂

Thanks for the help Rob. I get it now and hopefully it could be mapped to subdirectories in the future 😉

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! :))
