We are having a problem with the map on the homepage of http://www.stayrajaampat.com. Half of our users see their own location instead of the intended mashup of Raja Ampat homestays. We can’t work out what the users with the problem have in common – they are using many different browsers and OS, some have Google accounts and some don’t. We can’t reproduce it on any of our 3 computers at home, in any browser, but have had many reports of the issue on our FB page.

The code for the mashup sets a specific latitude and longtitude and client centering is set to false. You can see this is rendering correctly in the pgmm input. I even tried commenting out the line in site.js that sets the center to the client’s location (which shouldn’t be parsed anyway, since it’s set to false) and that fixed it for some users but not for others.

No idea whether this is an issue with the plugin or some overriding external thing, but it’s a big, curious issue and would love the help of the developer or the WP community to get to the bottom of it.

  • I am having the exact same problem. Except it is happening to me instead of my clients.

I’m really sorry, but I’m unable to reproduce the centering error. I tested from different locations from all corners of the world through a VPN connection. I used 3 different browsers for each location. I got the correct center in all cases, and therefore it’s quite difficult to debug this issue, as I can not discover what is different exactly.

Of course we’d be more than happy to solve this issue, except we just don’t can.

If anyone discovers something that might be related to this issue, please let us know.

Thank you so much for your reply and your time looking into this issue. I guess will just have to leave this one as a edge case.
