hmm, it should work both for 100% and 100px, is this what you tried?

Yes, any pixel value works fine, but any percentage value I try, the map disappears.

Hmmm. Digging further, I can see from the source that the plugin is writing the map just fine, it’s just not visible on my page, so apparently something else is interfering.

Have you tried deactivating all other plugins and switching to the default theme to see if that fixes the map display?

If it does, reactivate each in turn until you find the problem plugin.

Even when using the twenty fourteen theme in it’s standard configuration, with all plugins deactivated, I’m having no luck with percentage widths on the map.

It’s a fantastic plugin, so the percentage widths are not a deal-breaker for me, but it would be nice to get them working.

Is anyone else having this issue with wordpress 3.8 and the twenty fourteen theme?

I’ve not really used Google Maps, but a different though similar mapping API I use does not allow for percentage widths – it must be fixed in order to work properly.

I suspect therefore it may be the same with Google. Have you tried checking the Maps API help/forums for examples of them using percentage widths?

    Thanks

I got it to work by taking it out of the div with the “float” style, since I wanted it 100% anyway. Not really a fix, but it works for my needs.

I didn’t dig too deep, but my guess is that it is because as far as I could tell, the parent div does not have a width set.
