• We have a multisite website and it has a primary domain (example.com) and we want to point those 2 domains to a subsite (example.com/tw/). We want to map 2 more domains (example.tw and example.com.tw)so that when use visits our website there should be no redirection.

If they visit example.com/tw/, the end url is example.com/tw/.
if they visit example.tw, the end url is example.tw.
if they visit example.com.tw the end url is example.com.tw.

    Questions:
Is it possible to map 2 additional domains to a single url (example.com/tw/) and how?
Is it possible to be done with this plugin?

    hello 🙂

unfortunately not – the plugin is designed to map only a single url. additionally, we do not provide multisite support and have never tested for ourselves in a multisite environment.

if you have budget for that, maybe we could build you a customized plugin for that somewhere around january/february 2021.

The topic is exciting for me:

    1. I have not noticed that the plugin is NOT intended and tested for multisite. I uploaded it to a multisite – and the plugin basically worked immediately as I had hoped.

    2. I have linked to a directory [Enter the path to the desired root for this mapping] with a 2nd domain [Enter the domain you want to map.] on which a 1st domain has already been set up.

    3. Effect: the 2nd assignment is not displayed as a data record – and the following message appeared on top:

“Multiple domain mapping on single site
At least one mapping with duplicate domain or path has been dropped.”

    4. But it seems to work: both domains call up the linked page as intended:

    ve.com> ve-com (shows the content for ve.com) – in the browser: https://ve.com
    ve.info> ve-com (shows the content for ve.com) – in the browser: https://ve.info

    5. It seems that the 2nd data record for ve.info has been created and stored properly and also works, but is not displayed and can be revised again. I have not yet tried to delete the displayed data record of 1st domain.

    6. For me the plugin would be ideal if it would run safely under multisite and the above problem was solved. I’ve already spent days getting Domain Mapping to work without a plugin. I didn’t succeed.

    Have a successful 2021!

I just removed the plugin. But the domain assignments remained in the database and work as before. But I also want to delete them. How does this work – which data sets can be found where to be deleted?
    Thank you,
    Walter

that sounds like you see cached content/redirections from your browser. since the plugin does not generate any htaccess-lines or anything else, it is not possible to have any effects when the plugin is not active. when uninstalled, the plugin also deletes the few options and the mappings from the database.

    good luck

@pamulang before you set up any mappings you should check that each domain will show up with your sites front page. if that is not the case, then your hosting is not yet ready. please contact your hosting provider if you need help for that.

and if you need further assistance, please start a new topic here, since this is a different topic than this thread 😉

    good luck
    matt
