  • there is a problem, with choosing the preview I can just see the simple preview, also when I choose Events template and choose my own templae it don’t show up, it’s much easier if you provide a simple shortcode, So I can echo it on the page.

Hey, I just saw this review and wanted to follow-up directly to thank you for the feedback and for giving us an honest assessment of the plugin.

I’m certainly bummed to hear that the plugin failed your expectations on a few levels here. Just out of curiosity, would you be willing to elaborate more on how you would find a shortcode handy? I do want to note that we do have a set of shortcodes available in The Events Calendar PRO and I’m wondering if those might offer the capabilities you’re looking for as far as embedding events and views.

On that same note, it would be awesome to hear what sort of shortcodes you’d find useful that aren’t currently offered in PRO so we can compare them to our current offerings and see how we can make things better. Our goal is to make the plugin more useful to all our customers…and if we can earn a full 5 stars from folks like yourself along the way, that’d be a nice added bonus for sure.

    Thanks again for your feedback!

This rating was so long ago, I can’t remember it realy good. But here are some suggestions. I’ve provided a link of the website I’ve installed this plugin. afterwards I installed another plugin. with social icons and set it up that it could show icons on the end of every page or post, it is showing the icons in the middle of the event thinking that this is the end of the post. also the scaling of the image is not wery well if I choose a vertical/portrait aligned picture. the design of the page is not looking very well, it’s a simple floating solution of this. it would be a pleasure to help you with some more designs how the event details are showing up. On the display settings > Events template, after choosing another template I didn’t work. just the default template is working. I can provide a video where this is showing, if this could help your plugin.
Also I should mention that the website is on a windows server.

Thanks for the extra feedback! By the way, the site is looking nice–excellent work. 🙂

We definitely try to support as many plugins and themes as we can, but there are certainly going to be cases where conflicts come up. In this case, it seems that the social icons plugin being used looks to inject itself directly after the_content rather than the true end of the event post, which has additional elements. You could, for example, stop the action on the social icons and force them to execute after the calendar’s HTML using tribe_events_after_html().

There are also a number of ways to manipulate the featured image of an event. You can already customize the singe-event.php template (more on this in our Themer’s Guide) to use a different-sized post_thumbnail than the default. Or, if you need a different size altogether, you could register a new thumbnail size in your functions.php file and use that in the template instead. In other words, the templates are pretty flexible, even if the plugin isn’t 100% compatible with a specific theme right off the bat.

    I hope this helps!
