Support » Plugin: Wordfence Security - Firewall & Malware Scan » Manually Adding Whitelist URLs

Howdy – i’ve been a long time user of Wordfence Premium, but even their customer support staff don’t seem to be much help. Using WF 7.2.1 on WP 5.0.3.

In a few instances of my WP installations, i run a separate web app alongside the WP site. As such, these apps make a lot of requests to non-WP pages and scripts. From time to time, WF blocks these requests, mostly the AJAX calls.

I would like to know how to manually add URLs to the Wordfence Whitelist so that those calls are no longer blocked at all. I have read the documentation, but putting WF into Learning Mode doesn’t seem to work all the time, and adding things manually seems like it should be very simple – but it is not!

I am on the Firewall Options page, down in the Whitelisted URLs section. In all of the documentation – and after contacting support – i still don’t know what to put in the Param Type or Param Name fields. There is NO DOCUMENTATION on this. Can anyone shed some light on what those do, and how to allow all access to a particular page/script?

    Thanks in advance, AirYT

    Hi,

I think I know which customer you are as I was able to match up AirYT and ynot2k. However, I can’t find a support ticket with this query that you have.

As you are a premium customer please contact premium support again and send a new reply to your ticket, even if it was automatically closed by the ticketing system as that will re-open it.

We can then proceed to help you.

    Thank you.

Maybe it would help the overall community and future people looking for an answer to this question if you post the answer here. All i need to know is what Param Type and Param Name fields mean. And/or if you could post a simple example of how to whitelist an entire URL or script/page, that would be really helpful. The documentation doesn’t specify any of that info. Thanks.

    Hi @ynot2k

Thank you for the reply. Creating custom rules is not a straightforward process and would need to be done on an individual basis. Some requests can’t be whitelisted under certain circumstances and wildcards are not allowed currently as it is not safe to do so.

As you are a premium customer please contact premium support. I will mark this as resolved as you are a premium customer.

    Thank you.
