I am trying to figure out how to manually enter credit card info with wiseposE and point of sale with woocommerce using stripe terminal. Everything is setup properly and the card reader is working with swipes. Stripe will only say that i can “make a screen for the terminal” but doesn’t give me anything else. Got any ideas?

We do not support manual card entry on the terminal, the terminal is not the POS UI. Manual card entry should be handled via your POS UI (ie. Stripe gateway plugin).

I believe I may have found a good workaround, but I’d still like to know what stripe means that I can “make a screen for the terminal”. I can’t find any documentation regarding this process anywhere. For now I’m just going to go to the website and place the order for manual phone in orders.

I cannot speak for Stripe but our plugin uses Stripe’s “reader display” method to provide a visualization of the order details on the device. However, it’s not interactive, so it wouldn’t be related to your goal. Our plugin does not offer an interactive UI option for the reader screens, so whatever recommendation they’re providing wouldn’t be related to our plugin.

With regards to your described workaround, the WC “orders” method is the standard workflow for manual entry / phone orders on WooCommerce.

By the way, it doesn’t appear your website is using our plugin. It looks like you’ve got it installed but you haven’t made use of it and it looks like your transactionsa re using someone else’s terminal payment method, so you’ll want to contact those developers.

Thanks for the input. I’m a bit confused about why you said that I’m not using your plugin, as I’m hoping that’s not showing a different issue because I am 100% using it as we speak. I have terminal for stripe and woocommerce and it says it’s by arcane strategies. I also have woocommerce stripe gateway, but that has to be installed as a prerequisite for setting up the terminal using your plugin. I’m using point of sale for woocommerce and stripe wiseposE.

    Edit:
I see now…, what I should have said was that I am using woocommerce stripe gateway, but I had to install yours as a prerequisite for installing it it didn’t occur to me that both weren’t by the same devopers. Thansk again for your feedback and help.

Now I’m even more confused. I’m looking in your plugin and it shows my credit card terminal attached to it and we have been taking payments with it for about a week now, so we are definitely using your plugin.

Our plugin will import data from your account, that doesn’t mean you’re actually using it for transactions. The account we’re reviewing has actually never made a transaction using our plugin. Go to your Stripe account and click “Developers”, then click “Logs”, then click on a transaction and look at the API call header. You’ll see “Arcane POS” under the Application property and “arcanestrategies.com/products/stripe-terminal-for-woocommerce” in the source if it’s from us. In fact, you’ll also see a lot more data. Our plugin includes a lot more transaction data than yours. For example, ours displays the order description title with the order ID (not a PI id), meta data listing all line items, cashier name, and more. All of your terminal transaction PIs are missing this info, don’t have our headers, and have the order ID in meta data under “Order Number: reg#”, that’s not from us.

Before you dive into that, let’s just make sure we’re on the right track here. We’re looking at the “Black Tie Cookies” Stripe account. We’ve determined this from your website (https://chrish148.sg-host.com/). Is it possible there’s a separate Stripe account you’re using which isn’t “Black Tie Cookies”? There are no test transactions on that account but that URL looks like a staging URL, so I’m wondering if perhaps we’re looking at a wrong account?

We also tried looking for transactions from “https://blacktiecookies.com/” but nothing has come up, so that’s the only thing we’ve got to work with.

Yes. We haven’t switched the domain over yet, but it’ll be going to blacktiecookies.com in the next week or so once we finish testing and training. I just looked in the stripe account and I’m seeing our online and in-store orders both as processed under the same account. What’s weird is that I went in a bit ago and made sure the”enable stripe terminal” was checked and for some reason it wasn’t, but I know for a fact it was. I checked it and verified that the pos still showed the terminal and it did. As we speak now I’m looking at the settings and the box is unchecked again. Is it possible that something else is overriding it and turning it off? I’d love to have you take a peek under the hood to make sure something isn’t jacked up. I can confirm that all payments are working and have no errors with anything and payouts are coming through just like we want it to.

If your payments are working as you’d like them to, why change it? You’re just using someone else’s terminal payment method in your POS, that’s all I’m saying. Our plugin should still work for your mobile integration (ie. for M2 and Chipper devices), you’re just not using it for web orders. Your current terminal solution doesn’t really provide useful data on your Stripe PI’s but if that’s not important to you, you’ve got a perfectly workable solution without us. It’s entirely likely that your POS developer has their own terminal solution and doesn’t integrate with ours. Ours is meant to work directly with the default checkout procedures which all themes implement but most POS plugins ignore theme files and build their own DOMs which makes them incompatible with most plugins. You really should touch base with your POS developer, they’d be the best to speak with about this. They’d also probably have a better answer regarding “Is it possible that something else is overriding it and turning it off?” (anythig is possible but it wouldn’t be coming from us).
